About Us

After 16 years of serving the community, the team at American Heartland Bank & Trust decided it was time to make some changes to reflect who we really are in this community. It started on December 21, 2015 when we moved into a new building in the heart of Sugar Grove, Illinois. On April 1, 2016 we changed our name to FIRST SECURE COMMUNITY BANK. The new name signifies our dedication and commitment to the community we serve. The bank has not been sold nor did we merge with another bank, and it continues to have the same management, employees, board, and ownership.

Our Business Strategy Is Simple:

Capitalize on Executive Management's Banking Experience - John Medernach, Executive Vice President, & S. Ali Khan, Executive Vice President, Have More Than 80 Years of Combined Community Banking Experience, Primarily in the West Suburban Chicago Area.

Emphasize Active Community Participation - As an Independent Community Bank, We Focus on Providing Quality Banking Services That Are Responsive to Local Banking Needs; Employees & Officers Are Active in the Local Business, Civic & Philanthropic Organizations in the Area. These Organizations Include the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce, Kaneland School District, Anderson Animal Shelter, & Many Other Local Charitable & Religious Organizations.

Neighborhood - FIRST SECURE COMMUNITY BANK's Primary Target Market Is Sugar Grove, Aurora, Joliet, Morris, Naperville & nearby communities, & the Bank Will Take Advantage of Strategic Opportunities in the Surrounding Chicagoland Area & Far Western Suburbs as Those Opportunities Occur.
